Bitcoin forecast 2027–2030: CoinShares, ARK and our 2027 scenarios

Our Bitcoin scenarios for the end of 2027 are $50,000, $120,000 and $200,000. CoinShares’ estimates for 2028–2029 and ARK’s scenarios for 2030 come from separate studies.

How we selected the evidence

We use research issued by the organisation itself, with a publication date, a stated horizon and a model or explicit assumptions. A newspaper quotation of a bank note is a lead to investigate, not a substitute for the note. A price expected at the end of a year also differs from a level that might be touched at any time during it.

These are scenarios, not observations. A model can be coherent and still fail if adoption, market structure, policy or liquidity changes. The years below describe what the selected documents actually cover as of 27 September 2026.

2027: Conditional annual scenarios

Neither CoinShares nor ARK publishes the 2027 prices shown here. The three round figures are our stress-test outcomes, chosen on 27 September 2026, without assigned probabilities. CoinShares’ 2028–2029 savings model and ARK’s 2030 scenarios are separate models with their own horizons.

The weak case assumes falling risk appetite and weaker inflows; the base case assumes sustained ETF and savings demand; the strong case needs a larger and durable capital allocation. At Bitcoin’s 21-million maximum supply, the three prices would imply hypothetical fully diluted values of $1.05 / $2.52 / $4.20 trillion. Market value based on circulating supply differs; actual prices can fall outside the range.

03 / 2027–2030

2028: CoinShares models roughly $248,000

CoinShares estimates about $248,000 for the end of 2028 in its savings-adoption valuation framework. It starts with owners and annual saving allocations, translates flows into market capitalisation using a modelled 3.5× multiplier, and accounts for Bitcoin issuance. CoinShares calls its results price-supporting valuations rather than forecasts of market tops.

The paper also says its older 2028 estimate was about $133,000. The newer value is roughly 86% higher, illustrating how much the output can move when inputs and empirical estimates are revised. It does not mean Bitcoin has already returned 86%, nor does it turn $248,000 into a guaranteed floor.

04 / 2027–2030

2029: CoinShares models roughly $317,000

The same framework yields about $317,000 for the end of 2029. CoinShares also tests a more pessimistic combination of inputs—halving its flow multiplier and reducing the savings allocation—and reports an outcome above $150,000 by 2029. Both values come from the model, not from an observed future market.

A floor in a valuation model is not a floor in an exchange order book. Forced selling, adverse regulation, weaker adoption or a recession could carry the traded price below a modelled valuation. We keep the base estimate and stress case in separate rows for that reason.

2030: read the ARK editions separately

ARK Invest’s April 2025 valuation study published bear, base and bull outcomes of about $300,000, $710,000 and $1.5 million per Bitcoin for 2030. Its drivers include institutional allocation, the digital-gold thesis and adoption in emerging markets. Those figures belong to the 2025 edition and are conditional on its assumptions.

In Big Ideas 2026, ARK describes a Bitcoin market-capitalisation forecast of roughly $16 trillion by 2030. It also reports changes to two assumptions: a larger digital-gold market and a markedly lower emerging-market safe-haven penetration assumption because of stablecoin adoption. The $16 trillion is a market-cap figure, not a separately published dollar-per-coin target in that passage. We do not silently relabel the older $710,000 base case as a new 2026 price prediction.

06 / 2027–2030

Why the figures are not a single price curve

CoinShares gives end-2028 and end-2029 estimates from a savings-flow model. ARK presents end-2030 adoption scenarios and a newer market-cap outlook. Their time horizons, inputs and meanings differ. A line drawn through $248,000, $317,000 and $710,000 would falsely suggest one continuous model that neither firm published.

Bitwise’s long-term capital-market assumptions discuss approximately $1.3 million by 2035. It is useful context for a decade-scale thesis, but it is not a 2030 price target. We will add a bank to the comparison only when its dated original research can be verified.

Four things to check before acting on any forecast

First, identify who issued the estimate and whether they offer Bitcoin investment products. Second, record the exact publication date and update history. Third, distinguish year-end prices from a price reached at any point and a valuation floor from a bull scenario. Fourth, write down the assumption that would invalidate the thesis before discussing potential gains.

The most useful outcome is a range of conditional cases and a checklist of evidence to monitor. Even a careful projection does not tell an individual when to enter, how much to allocate, or how large a drawdown they can afford.

How to read this comparison

The three bars below reproduce ARK’s 2025 scenario values for the same 2030 horizon. Bar length is scaled to the $1.5 million bull case; it is not a probability or a suggested portfolio weight. The later 2026 market-cap projection is discussed separately.

Key question

Our 2027 prices describe three possible outcomes, not a fund target. Read the CoinShares and ARK estimates on their own dates and check whether demand and supply still support their assumptions.

Risk note

Bitcoin can lose substantial value or trade outside our conditional 2027 cases. Our three figures are editorial judgements without probabilities; CoinShares and ARK publish separate research and sell investment products. This article offers no price guarantee or investment recommendation.
